The Eurasian wren or winter wren (Nannus troglodytes) is a very common bird in the Netherlands. Their numbers are quite stable.
Even though ‘winter’ is in their name, they can’t survive very cold winters.
If your garden has enough green, most likely one of these will find their home there!
It is listed as ‘of least concern’ by the IUCN red list.
Although species might be listed like this, I still consider these birds endangered. Because our whole ecosystem is threatened by climate change. Sad, but true. Let’s take good care of our planet and our birds!
